Thai massage is an unique and powerful ancient healing art. It was initially considered a spiritual practice, a meditative application of loving-kindness. Thai massage is based on a concept of invisible energy lines (the ten sen) that run throughout the body. Important acupressure points are located along these lines. Thumb, palm, elbow, knee and foot pressure, combined with gentle applied hatha based yoga stretches are used by the masseur to stimulate and balance the energy flow and release blockages, leading to increased vitality, health and well being.
You will spend 16 days over the course of a year learning and practicing different massage techniques and styles to create a 2 hour, tailor made Traditional Thai Yoga Massage massage made to suit the individual. Attention will also be given to posture and ways that you work as a practitioner. This course is suitable for those thinking of starting a new career in body work or for those who would like to learn more about yoga and this ancient healing art and gain skills to practice effectively on their friends and families. It offers valuable skills for already existing professionals, yoga and Pilates teachers, dancers, actors and all those who would like develop the skills they already have and learn new and innovative ones to complement their knowledge of the body-mind connection.
The training will culminate in a practical and theoretical examination.
