Pranayama & Philosophy Workshop
Pranayama & Philosophy Workshop
with Anne Lonsdale
Sunday 14 November 2010, Yoga Glasgow
8.30 am - 4 pm
£75
Anne has been practising yoga for many years. During the last few years her focus has been on pranayama under the guidance of Sri O.P. Tiwari, genuine yogi and master of Pranayama.
Her aim during this workshop is to pass on some what she has been learning from both Tiwairi and her own practice. It will cover the basics required for establishing a sound pranyama practice.
The day will include:
• Simple pranayama practice
• Asana practice to support pranayama
• Understanding of the role of the kriyas
• Some of the relevant yoga philosophy in relation to lifestyle & attitude to support pranayama
• The bandhas and mudras and their relevance to pranayama
• The nadis & chakras
• Mantras
This will be an introductory workshop. In 2011 Anne will be running a series of short residential workshops from her place in Perthshire for small groups of students who wish to continually build their practice.
Dress in clothes suitable for asana & sitting and bring a mat and blanket and firm cushion or block to sit on.
Please eat lightly the night before and try not to eat and avoid caffeine in the morning before we start. There will be a lunch break 11.15 – 12.45.
